Scandinavian filmfest to screen Iran’s well-recognized ‘Limit’

The 5th Scandinavian Int’l Film Festival in Finland is set to screen Iran’s ‘Limit’.

The 5th edition of the Scandinavian International Film Festival (SCIFF) in Finland is slated to screen Iranian short ‘Limit’.

Directed and written by Javad Daraee, the 8-minute film chronicles the story of a man in a quiet neighborhood, who asks the people around to help him, when all of a sudden, somebody goes into his home.

Daraee adopts a spiritual viewpoint in his movies, utilizing a narrative that aims to challenge the status quo regarding the rights of the disabled.

‘Limit’ depicts the trials and tribulations of handicapped people in their daily lives; issues that irk them given all the snap judgment around.

It has won many awards at many global events, including the 7th St Cloud Film Fest, the 2nd Miami FearFest, the international Hollywood Hills Awards, the 3rd Tryon International Film Festival, the 6th Bleedingham short horror film festival, the 7th Speechless Film Festival, the 2nd Sigmund Freud Film Festival & Challenge, the 2020 Woodbury Film Festival, the 12th Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival, and the Niagara County Community College Film and Animation Festival, all in the US.

Its admirations go on with Best Actor Award from the 2nd Piggy Bank Film Festival in India, Best Short Film Award at the 2018 Unknown Film Festival in Russia, honorable mention at the 9th Cinefest International Film Festival in Brazil, Grand Jury Award at the 10th International Festival Entr’2 Marches in France, award for Best Fiction at the 10th Southampton Film Week 2017 in the UK, as well as Best Director award at the 2019 Global Short Film Awards in France and the US.

Most recently the flick went on screen at the 2020 Athens Marathon International Film Festival in Greece and is also scheduled to be presented at the 16th International Short Film Festival Detmold in Germany this October.

The SCIFF is considered as a high-level cultural event in Helsinki, Finland.

Its objective is to highlight today’s conflicts such as racism, radicalism and human crises.

The 5th edition of the SCIFF is scheduled for August 22-26, 2020.
